Exhibitions
Every two years, the International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam (IABR) runs a themed research project that produces a program centered around several exhibitions on architecture and urban design. When these exhibitions are open the public, visitors and/or professionals can also attend or take part in special meetings, lectures, award ceremonies, workshops, master classes, a guided architectural tour of Rotterdam and many more activities. To top it off, various biennial books and films are produced in cooperation with the IABR.
During the 4th edition of the IABR, the Netherlands Architecture Institute (NAI) will be the venue for the exhibition entitled Open City: Designing Coexistence. In actual fact, the whole NAI building will be turned into an Open City – a widely varied collection of programs, ambiances, cultures, intensities, conceptual dialogues and many other activities. The exhibition and other activities at NAI in Rotterdam will be combined with two other exhibitions, namely Parallel Cases//IABR@RDM at the RDM Campus in Rotterdam-Heijplaat in South Rotterdam, as well as The Free State of Amsterdam in Amsterdam.
